(DeMond Grant). Research in our lab examines cognitive functioning (i.e., attentional biases, executive functions, working memory) associated with anxiety and related disorders. We are using information processing tasks (e.g., dot-probe, anti-saccade), event-related potentials, and peripheral psychophysiological measures (i.e., respiratory sinus arrhythmia, startle reflex) to address these questions. University of Pittsburgh (Aidan Wright; Personality Processes and Outcomes Laboratory). Research in the PPOL is grounded in the basic sciences of personality psychology and psychopathology. In our work we frequently draw on well validated structural models of individual differences (e.g., the interpersonal circumplex, the big-5/five-factor model) to provide an organizing framework for investigations. However, we adopt the perspective that personality traits reflect ensembles of contextualized dynamic processes that need to be understood as they unfold over various time scales. Therefore much of our work involves repeated sampling from subjects in time intervals that span from the micro (e.g., sub-second) to the macro (e.g., across decades) scale, in order to reveal processes of interest. Vanderbilt University (Kate Humphreys; @K_L_Humphreys; Clinical Psychology) Our lab Stress and Early Adversity Lab studies early life experiences, how those experiences predict subsequent functioning, and interventions to improve early caregiving. Given a new project on parent and child proximity, an ideal match would be someone interested in applying new technologies to study the caregiving ecology of infants and young children. We also study the perinatal period as well as both mothers' and young children’s neurobiology. Our lab would benefit from someone with strong programming skills and/or experience in MRI/fMRI. We hope to recruit 1 graduate student for Fall 2020. [https://apply.vanderbilt.edu/apply/].
